National Graduate Physics Exam (NGPE) is a national level examination. It is conducted by Indian Association of Physics Teachers in every year.
Eligibility Criteria for appearing in NGPE :
Students of B.Sc I, II and III (Pass, Honours or integrated) are eligible. Anyone who already passed B.Sc are not applicable.

Exam Information:
Language in NGPE:
English, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu or any other language if 100 or more students opt for it.
Format for NGPE:
Part A: 25 MCQ with any number of options (1,2,3 or all 4) may be correct. Credit is given only if all the correct options are marked ( 6 marks each, total 150 marks )
Part B1: 10 Short answer ( 5 to 6 lines ) Questions ( 5 marks each ; total 50 marks )
Part B2: 10 Problems ( 10 marks each ; total 100 marks )

Recognition:
S. N. Bose National Centre for Basic Sciences, Kolkata, allows direct admission to toppers in NGPE, after an interview, in their integrated Ph.D. programme.
Scholarships:
A number of scholarships (subject to a maximum of 5) have been instituted to encourage students to take-up physics as a career. Those who seek admission in M.Sc. (physics) after NGPE, are eligible for these scholarships.
